About Dr. Silvera

Dr. Silvera is an assistant professor of health services administration at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Prior to this, Dr. Silvera held a position at Auburn University. He earned his doctorate from Pennsylvania State University and his masters and bachelors degrees from the University of Florida. He is a also certified professional in DEI in the workplace. His research has had global impact on topics such as patient experience, health care quality, health information technology, and diversity management. He is passionate about the role of strategic decision-makers in making positive systemic changes. In addition to his academic role, he serves as the director of the UAB Health Equity Leadership Academy and serves on the editorial board of several peer-review journals including as Associate Editor for Patient Experience Journal.
